On the Upside

After a full day of traveling, we finally made it to our destination.  You’d hope that would be the conclusion right?  Rather than …we didn’t make it at all or …and we were eaten by wolverines.  Frankly, I feel both were possible yesterday, so there’s a sort of relief about it all.

In addition to safety and lack of wolverines, several nice things happened yesterday:
Despite three flights, an 40 minute delay at the outset, and a full-out run for our connecting flight, she whined only once for a half second and cried exactly never.  She’s practically a saint.  We’ll put together any travelling tips we have when we get back, but for now suffice to say that she was temporarily an angel.

We had incredibly awesome seats on the second flight – the one to which we arrived sweating and out of breath, rosy cheeked and hacking because of our colds.  We had a full seat worth of leg room in front of us.  I’m pretty sure that everyone around us had been coveting those seats from the time they boarded but I was too relieved to have made the flight to be bothered by their glares.

My sister procured a car seat and travel crib for us and RR took full advantage, falling asleep in both, stat.

Also, we didn’t have to sleep in The Hole.  More on that another time.
All in all, we made it here without catastrophe, which is all I ask when travelling across the country or being in the presence of TSA.  We get a fullthree day break until we do it again to restore our will and fortitude and to enjoy my sisters.

  1. Yay! Glad you made it okay, and that you don’t have to sleep in The Hole. I’m not sure what that is, but it doesn’t sound too appealing.
