Being Free-Years-Old

Three-year-old RR’s language is a hoot. The other day we saw some bulldozellers moving dirt.

And since it’s October, we’re seeing lots of pone-kins.

Ls and Rs still elude her. Now that she’s beginning to sound out words we hear things like: yuh-yuh-yoyo or yuh-yuh-yak but better still yuh-yuh-yunch and yuh-yuh-yollypop.

Best of all are the words she comes up with on her own. For most of us, this is a FORT. A castle, a hideaway, a playhouse. But really, a FORT. For RR, it’s a Mystery House.

For full effect, here is an annotated version of the Mystery House:

Mystery House 1

1. Kyle is a Nkonde.
2. RR is a tropical nut island.
3. Meemo is her best friend.
4. Ponekin.

  1. Hahaha… tropical nut island. Hilarious.

  2. Punk-in-a-pie. Still my hands down fave and still what we call it.
Love the term ‘mystery house’. I may have to borrow that one.

  3. Adorable! I can’t wait to hear more of Punky’s vocabulary develop. She’s slowly learning words and ‘mimicking’ and it’s already adorable. I can’t wait until she’s RR’s age!
